Scoring from the Kick-Off
Back to Experts Guide
"What a stupid goal to concede, I'll
have to get another quickly", "Come on lads, let's
get an early goal and demoralise the oppostion"
If you've ever felt, said or thought either of
the above, then this tactic is the one for you. You'll need
a pretty decent, pacy winger to do it (see the bargain players
page for a list of perfect candidates), but this is one of the
simplest tactics which you will come across and it can be done
against teams of all quality.

The kick off. Simply pass the ball to
the winger visible on the screen. (Note when shooting
up the pitch, the winger will be on the left hand
side, and not the right.)
|
Once your winger has collected the ball,
set off on a diagonal run away from the goal (arrowed)

Once you reach this point, change direction
and head diagonally towards the goal (arrowed) So
long as you have a winger with a bit of pace, the
defenders (circled) will not be able to catch you)
|
Once you reach the semi circle of the
box, change course again and head straight into the
box (arrowed). Again the defender behind you will
have lost you completely.

Once you reach this point, hit a diagonal
shot across the face of the goal. The chances of it
going in depend on your wingers finishing and shot
power qualities (an expensive winger (e.g. Ryan Giggs)
will score almost every time) and the quality of the
keeper. But let me tell you, you'll score almost every
time against teams in the low divisions.
