24/9/01 : Purple Jumps on Sensi Online Bandwagon
I played my first game of internet Sensi last night, and I have
to say it was great fun. Can I encourage everyone to visit the
new pages in the SWOS section to find out more. Check out the
latest updates page for more info.
24/9/01 : New SWOS Tournament Launched
Czech station has launched a new SWOS tournament. You can even
win a trophy and everything!! Czech it out at http://web.quick.cz/joseus/.
17/9/01 : A Message Of Support - CF Pages temporarily closed
off
In light of recent events, anything said on this news page,
or indeed anywhere else on the site, seems to pale into in-significance.
But life must go on and we must not let such tragic acts control
our lives.
May I take this opportunity to send my deepest condolences to
anyone who may have been affected by events of last week and let
us all hope that this matter is resolved sensibly in a way that
is fair and just.
As a mark of respect, I have temporarily closed off the link to
the Cannon Fodder pages of this site. I hope this doesn't cause
too much inconveniance, but I don't believe it to be appropriate
to leave it open at the moment and I think it is the least that
I can do given the circumstances.
The CF pages are still up in their usual place, so anyone who
really wishes to access them can do so using the address : http://compsoc.dur.ac.uk/~pm/cannonfodder.
17/9/01 : SWOS Online League is back
Getting back to something like normality, The best ever online
SWOS competition is coming back very soon over at SWOS
Witnesses. There is a small entry fee to pay, but it's a great
competition, and worth every penny! It's time to prove yourself
as a SWOS master to the rest of the world. If you have the cash
and the time, do not miss out on this competition. The closing
date to enter is fast approaching, so don't waste any time in
heading over to the Witnesses
site to register your name.
10/09/01 : Cannon Fodder : Next Gen also in development
Yes, it's true, not only is there a possibility that there is
going to be a new Sensi Soccer, there is a distinct chance that
Cannon Fodder will also make a welcome return to the fray. Infact
hunt through the Codemasters site (and I mean really hunt through!)
and you will find two lines of text which confirm that this is
the case. As with the football action game, however, details -
such as the platform it will be released on, and when it is due
for release are being kept very quiet!
10/09//01 : Purple Launches Search for female sensi players!
Wanted - Female Sensi Fans!! After perusing the members page
at the home of the Sensible Online Community - the yahoo club
(http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/purplessensibletributeclub/
- ignore the link in the right hand menu for now, as it is wrong,
and changing it is a bit of a pain in the derrier!), it came to
my attention that all the members are blokes. Whilst this is understandable,
given that computer games, and football are both kinda blokey
things, it would be nice to know that Sensi had a bit of a female
following!
So if you are, or know someone that is a female Sensi fan, get
in touch with me on webmaster@purplesensi.co.uk
, and if there's enough response, I will run some kind of a feature.
If you send me photos, who knows, you may even end up on the hallowed
famous players page, up amongst the likes of Britney Spears and
Jennifer Love Hewitt!
07/09/01 : Codemasters cagey over new "Soccer Action
Game"
Its the news all Sensi fans have been hoping for, or at least
I think it is. Codemasters have quietly confirmed that they currently
have a "new soccer action game" in development. Jumping
to conclusions, are we to suspect that Sensible Soccer is to make
a long awaited comeback?
Codemasters are unwilling to release any further details at this
point and so I guess we'll have to wait and see, but, FINGERS
CROSSED!
07/09/01 : SWOS News Round-up
It's been a busy few months in the world of SWOS! The
World SWOS Tournament in Backa Palanka has taken place,
and was, by all accounts, a huge success, new sites have cropped
up, and old sites have died off, and Codemasters have done the
unthinkable by actually finally admitting that they may be doing
something with Sensible Soccer!
It is, however, sad to see that the wonderful Sensi
Superstar looks as though it has seen its final update,
and life in the online Sensible community appears to be dwindling.
Let's hope the latest news from the Codies will do something to
change that.
