24/3/02 : News Round Up
The first update of 2002! Sorry it's been a while coming but I
am currently in my final year of University with a serious amount
of work and revision to be done, so I'm afraid Purple is a pretty
low priority at the moment.
To be honest, there's not a lot going on in the Sensi scene these
days anyway. STILL no hope of SWOS 2002, despite a barrage of
posts on the Codemasters new forum ( http://62.25.96.161/cgi-bin/forum/ultimatebb.cgi
)
Its nice to see Swos Witnesses
back in action again. It seems Lowrence has taken over the baton
from myself and Crispin of 24/7
in the fight for all things sensible. I certainly don't have the
time to commit like I used to, so, best of luck to you Lowrence!
Big respect goes out to Steeve Screech who recently went back
to the "old skool" of games development by single-handedly
coding Kick Off 2002, with the help of Kick Off fans. Big respect
also to Aklaim for having the balls to release it - and at budget
price. The game was released in the UK a couple of weeks ago.
When or whether it is released elsewhere, I don't know, but if
you're interested, you might want to check out http://www.ko-gathering.com/
. If only this could happen with SWOS. Sigh.
Visitors to the Yahoo club for Sensible Software may have noticed
that it has now migrated to a Yahoo group. This is good news,
as it means you can now share files, such as highlights, careers,
updates etc, with other members of the group. Pretty cool, eh!
Check it out at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/purplesensibletributeclub/
.
Thats about all the news I have for now. Make sure you get yourself
over to the Codemasters forum, and make your feelings known. We
want SWOS 2002!!
