25/12/01 : Latest Sensi News
Well folks, it's been a while! Still not much has changed in the
world of Sensible Software. Still, there are a few things I should
mention.
SLOL has entered it's third season and is now in
full swing. Sadly, due to other commitments, I had to pull out
of my hunt for a second successive promotion, but thankfully there
was someone available to fill my spot, and Lowrence is, as always
doing a great job in keeping the online SWOS community to survive.
Many SWOS sites are now in-active. SWOS
24/7 is updated very rarely, hopes for a much anticipated return
to action for Sensi-Superstar have seemingly, for the meantime
at least been dashed, with still no update in sight. Also, a lot
of old sites have disappeared thanks to the demise of the Xoom
website hosting service.
SWOS 2002 still looks a distant hope, with Codies still
refusing to buckle to consumer pressure. With the world cup coming
up, Sensi fans may be holding out in hope of a SWOS World Cup
2002. Will it happen? I don't know, but I for one, will have my
fingers crossed!
Jon Hare , former Sensi boss is currently working within
Codemasters as head-programmer on Mike Tyson boxing - another
factor which dashes the hopes for a new Sensi!, bt at least his
talents are being utilised.
2001 is, it has to be said, the year that FIFA on the
PC turned good, with it actually now possible to play it with
less than 20 buttons. It's not Sensi, and it never will be, and
it's still scum, but, whilst Codies starve us of further SWOS
action, FIFA 2002 may just do the trick for now!
Freddie Hajas, webmaster of SWOS-Brasil, has done the
decent thing, and "replaced" the now defunct SWOS-Fans-Association-Ring,
by dedicating a section of his site to listing all the current
sites around on the 'net. You may have noticed the new "banner"
on the fornt pages of this site, and the new link in the SWOS
pages. Check it out, he is keen to work hard in keeping this list
up to date, so it's probably the best place to go to check out
the latest new pages.
Well, I reckon that's pretty much everything in my round up of
Sensi news from the past few months. If I've missed anything out,
please let me know! I hope you all have a fun festive period,
and I look forward to addressing you again in the next update.
Whenever that may be...
